ridiculous and awesome

Currently I'm watching the first season of the BBC's Robin Hood. It is ridiculous and awesome. The cast is fantastic, Robin and his men look like scruffy members of some band I'm into and the Robin/Marian relationship is pretty darn good. The series has certain Xena/Walker Texas Ranger/Dr. Quinn elements going on. Still, it is solidly entertaining.

BBC Robin Hood

VH1's World Series of Pop Culture begins tomorrow! I look forward to the trivia, host Pat Kiernan's sarcasm and seeing others of my kind.

Oh yeah, Flight of the Conchords is really funny!

Ok, so I watched the "Part-Time Model" clip. So funny. The part with the kebabs and when he says "you'll probably have to keep your normal job." Oh dear!

I also watched the R-rated Superbad trailerBona-fied bad ass is right. I think it beats out Bourne as my most anticipated summer movie.

"The other day I arrested a man-lady who was legally named 'Fuck.'"

"I think he was Vietnamese, so it was with a 'Ph.'"

I still don't think it's going to top Knocked Up ... but it could.

"McLovin? Sounds like a sexy hamburger."

I'm quoting a movie that hasn't come out yet. Yowza!

Cool, I'm hoping to see it this weekend.

Nice posters, I like the Hard Boiled and American Beauty ones the best methinks.

I got one of those weird bulk emails from myself (my name strung together) that says "male enhancers at a laughable price." TF?

The Chuck Norris stuff never gets old. Never.

Joe - I saw the trailers for The Darjeeling Limited and No Country for Old Men. Wow. Just wow.

The new Coen one looks like they're returning to Blood Simple territory.

Rocket Science looks quirky and Dedication could be interesting.

I've already accepted that the best movie of the year will be a tossup between There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men, sight unseen.

As for Darjeeling, we will be fighting to the death to get it instead of Sundance. Hey, by the way, you should see Talk to Me if you get the chance - I forgot to tell you about it - it's actually really damn good.

There Will Be Blood looks awesome. DD-L rocks.

I saw Sunshine last night. I liked it. Very intense.

Becoming Jane didn't start here. :(

I'm officially back on a movie kick.

Misc: The Kinks song they playing in the Darjeeling trailer (This Time Tomorrow) is nice.

Yeah, I liked Sunshine, but that last half hour was just a tad ridiculous for my tastes. Not that it completely derailed the movie or anything, but it didn't really deliver on the themes and setups of the first two thirds. Still cool though - those shots of him falling into the sun and the final shot in the movie with all the sparks flying around him were amazing though.

I can't find that Kinks song on LimeWire. LimeWire sucks.

"That's the kind of pudding only $240 could buy."

"Why won't balls read?"

Neat ones.

My favorites are:

"Now we could've bought $100 worth of pudding, and that would have been a lot of pudding ... but we had to go all the way."

"You're sorry? I'm sorry! I'm fuckin' sorry!" and "You've got a gambling problem - shut the fuck up!"

How about this Curb moment? (Show Dad)
