emmys and whatnot (road house 3D edition)

Pretty decent Emmys this year with some very funny moments:

Super cool:

-The Office wins best comedy!!!

-Julia Louis-Dreyfus wins best comedic actress- she's cute

-Greg Garcia's speech

-The following banter:
"I'm Emmy winner Tiny Fey."
"And I'm home owner Tracey Morgan."

-Colbert and Stewart's patter and love pats
Looksee: Stewart and Colbert Present

-The-Bob Newhart-only-being-given-so-much-air-so-keep-the-thank-you-speeches-quick-schtick

-Conan's opening montage where he enters into various shows- especially the Office bit. It would have been cool to see Conan try to keep up the pace on The Gilmore Girls.
Looksee: Conan on the Office

Lovely Emmy Garb/Garments:
Ladies:
-Portia de Rossi
-Julia Louis-Dreyfus
-Debra Messing

Gents:
-Jon Stewart
-Peter Krause
-Tim Gunn!

Whatnot:

-Found myself having to ask for clarification on "Road House too" or "Road House 2?" Turns out it was Road House 2, a sequel does in fact exist.

Little Miss Sunshine was a hoot!

Project Runway just gets more angsty and wonderful every week. Michael is my favorite. He is the most talented, humble and likeable on the show. His clothes are structured, fashion forward and unique- not just baggy sundresses others seem to skim by on each week. I think the ideal top three would be Michael, Jeffrey (neck tattoo) and Kayne if he tones it down and gets it together. Otherwise Laura or Uli have that spot. I'm into it. That Michael Kors line last week about "Comme des Garcons goes to Amish country" was rad.

Can't wait for the BBC's Robin Hood miniseries with Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne- lordy!

Little Miss Sunshine - absolutely the best movie I've seen this entire year so far. The damn thing has sold out almost every day since it came out.

Also, it's funny you mentioned Road House 2, because I just watched that two days ago with Jason. It was actually disappointing, though - the lead singer from "That Thing You Do!" is no Swayze, intentionally or unintentionally, and the badness just kind of gets numbing after a while and not all that funny. Although, it does have its share of great howlers (my favorite: after it is revealed that Gary Busey's son, the ultravillain drug dealer, killed the protagonist's father by shooting him, he proceeds to tell him "I'm going to kill you just like I killed your father," even though he's beating him with a chain and doesn't have a gun!)

Also, watched Project Runway last night with Mom. I enjoyed the seersucker outfit immensely.

Yeah, the Road House thing had to do with you actually. I asked Mom what you and Jason were doing that night and there you have it. RH2 sounds classy.

Ah yes, the seersucker pant. And a seersucer cargo-ish pant no less. Pretty cool. He did well with that 80s breakdancer throwback yet still crisp and modern look. Yikes, I'm no Elsa Klensch!
